Drifting is an emerging form of motor sport that is attracting increasing interest, appealing especially to younger people. Marangoni has promptly accepted the challenge, exploiting its expertise on the track. What counts in drifting is neither speed nor the stopwatch, and there is no mêlée at the start with drivers hustling to get in front, rather there are judges to impress.
What really matters in this discipline is absolute control over the vehicle when drifting and the driving style, which must be spectacular. This is why more than a race, drifting is often referred to as an exhibition or freestyle sport. The thermal stress and extreme traction forces the tyres are constantly subjected to, as well as the strain on every component of the vehicle, must not affect the driver’s style and freedom of manoeuvre, while constant stability and the best grip must be guaranteed when sliding, so as to avoid losing control.
Marangoni takes part in the JDM All-Stars Drift Series, with driver Nigel Colfer and Ukrainian Drifting champion Alex Grinchuk.
