Progetto Marangoni Yaris
Progetto Marangoni Yaris is an original initiative dating back to 2007, involving UK magazine Redline and Italian tyre manufacturer Marangoni.
The objective was to devise a unique way of linking the speed, tuning and custom car markets, creating an important project car, with an amazing look and impressive horsepower.
The project kicked off by getting feedback from Redline readers, who had the chance to send in their own ideas for the Yaris design. This proved to be a huge success that surprised both Redline and Marangoni, who then had to choose the best ideas from the hundreds of proposals received, combining them to create an extraordinary vehicle in terms of both visual impact and engineering.
The result was a Yaris with 300 HP turbo engine, fitted with a series of accessories that no Yaris had never seen before, including the carbon fibre bonnet.
To ensure maximum control, this powerful Toyota Yaris was fitted with Marangoni Mythos tyres. Size 225/40R18 tyres were fitted on the front, for a precise response in any road conditions, while on the rear Marangoni Mythos size 255/35R18 guarantee maximum grip and excellent resistance to aquaplaning.
All stages of the project were detailed by Redline: media exposure for Progetto Marangoni included Marangoni-branded double page spreads in Redline UK magazine from June 2006 through to October 2007, including the Yaris being the front cover car in September 2007.
Even today the spectacular Marangoni Toyota Yaris is still being exhibited at main motoring and tuning shows in the UK. In 2012 some of the highlights have been:
